This is on the downward slope of Smithdown Road and is just outside the Toxteth Park boundary (red)

Griffiths's 1907 history of Toxteth gives this as the site of the crossing of the Lower Brook across Smithdown Road however the gradients here would not allow this. Lower Brook actually crosses at the base of the hill, around the Cemetery gates.  However there is a very small stream shown here on an old map, crossing in the reverse direction and flowing down Mulliner Street, in the direction of the gradient.  This is within the smallholding then called 'Brook Farm'.  This is unrelated either to the Brook House or the Lower Brook. In 1911 Gore, 'The Mulliner' pub was called 'The Brook Farm'.
