This pub now sits alone in an area of, largely, new housing and the layout of the general area has changed as great deal since the 1908 map.  The pub however is still original and both unspoiled and well cared for.

The interior includes the traditional arrangement of a lounge served only from a hatch at the back of the bar across the corridor. The bar back is a splendid wood and glass partition and the bar room and corridor have nice tiled walls.

Caring owners proudly showed us around closed off refurbished back area with glass ceiling dome.  The pub is a national treasure and has apparently featured in several 'period'  television programmes !
