This shows the corner of Denton Street, with Mill Street in the foreground. It is the same view as the 1960 shot below.
The original Derby Arms was demolished some time in 1961 and new premises were then rebuilt on the old site.
New housing now breaks the path of the original course of Denton Street. Behind are new properties on Wellington Road and just visible on the skyline is a fraction of the ruined Bethel Chapel.
