Found in Gore's directories at the junction of Mill Street with Combermere Street, initially as an un-named spirit vaults (157a) in 1881.

By 1894 it is named and the address is 157a, the 'a' being retained for many years. This Gore also places the pub on the town side of the Combermere Street / Mill Street junction.

By 1934 157a (still at this junction) this building is no longer a pub, but a confectioners.
