This sits at the junction of the top end
of Upper Hill Street (at Princes Road) and Gibson Street, however it is only a tiny stub of both named streets which survive
here. There is no continuation of Upper Hill Street to the left, although it does carry on beyond the new housing
which now cuts its former route.
To the right of the pub, the coloured wall is around what is left of the stables shown on the 1908 map. In the 1938 (Gore),
Roland Smith was the pub licensee, but by this time the stable had already become a motor engineers yard.
