This fascinating early shot shows the end of the lake towards Aigburth Road and the boathouse, around the turn of the century, perhaps a little earlier as the picture is old and faded and the trees are still young and freshly planted.

The angle of the photograph and the elevation from which it appears to have been taken suggests exactly which house this was  taken from, probably from an upper storey window.
