This shows the view down the glen with the Palm House located right. The ornamental lake in the foreground has a small, serpentine island in its centre. Locating this on the map and taking note of the elevated vantage point this photograph is thought to be taken from the bridge.

The 'Fairy Glen' is the old valley of the Upper Brook which was incorporated into the design of the park.

The waters join those of the Lower Brook at the head of the boating lake.
