Although marked as a drinking fountain
on the 1905 map, that part of the monument is no longer working.
This
appears to be made of the same red Mull granite used in parts of Sefton Park and
St Georges Hall.
The base bears an inscription to the founder of Princes Park,
Richard Vaughn Yates.
