You will find the following touching memorial
in Princes Park. I am sure that today 'health & safety'
would forbid not only the donkey rides but the dangers
of donkey manure, hazards of burial and the possible damage
caused by the stone toppling over. Funny how our ancestors
managed to survive on just common- sense alone!

IN MEMORY OF JUDY (DONKEY) WHO DURING 21 YEARS SERVICE IN THIS PARK WAS THE CHILDRENS FRIEND DIED 12 AUGUST 1926 AGED 26 YEARS

In fact it seems that there were several
donkeys called Judy and I hope to expand this history in time.
