A hand-coloured postcard showing the  Palm House in the distance, in what looks like a winter scene.

The flagstaff marked on the map of the same year, visible in front of the Palm House, makes it possible to place this view to the lake, close to the centre of the park and the Cafe. One of the two fountains in this lake is visible (not working) as the small rocky outcrop in the foreground. (the other fountain is behind the island)
