This shot is taken next to The Royal
but just past the
tall metal gates which now break the course of Bridgewater Street. The tall
building left of screen is the old corn mill which in 1926 was Joseph Appleby
& Sons Ltd.
The lower building in the centre of the screen is shown
as the 'Southend Works' on the map. In 1926 &1936 it was Reads Ltd, tinplate
workers.
