This was originally at 9 Park Hill Head where it was certified on 19th March 1856, it accommodated 60 girls.  In 1865 it moved and it was re-certified then. On 3rd February 1905 the school was extended to receive 65 girls and its certificate was extended on 13th February 1906 for the increased numbers. It was again re-certified on 4th May 1910 for 70 girls. The premises were originally a moderate sized house which was subsequently enlarged.

The school finally closed on 3rd November 1921.

After this Philp Mayer tells me that the Swan Ink factory was built on this site in the 1930s, it later ended up as the Titan Furniture Warehouse. The original building was demolished, and replaced by Kwik Save which was renamed Somerfield in 2006.
