St.Clement's Church School closed for ever on 12th December 1934 when the floor collapsed.

Ken Roberts' late cousin was there, at the end of term concert. She remembered that the whole room was full of teachers and pupils, when the floor gave way with a terrible crash and most of them fell through into the room below.  Fortunately she escaped unhurt, though terrified; she was nearly 11 years old at the time.
