4th August 1949
This stood on Park Road on land which
is undeveloped in the 1905 map. To orientate yourself - the tree on the right
hand edge of the screen sits in front of the Dingle Underground Station.
The
Salvation Army Barracks is not numbered in trade directories, but is fractionally
past number 440 Park Road and it sat between Kedleston Street and Gredington
Street (by the Bovril Advert).
The premises are not present on the 1908 OS map and
are not listed in the 1911 Gore, but they are present
in the 1926 Gore, giving an indication of when they were built. The latest directory
entry checked still shows the property, in 1966, called 'Salvation Army Corps'.
The premises are no longer there.
