A hand coloured version of Herdman's portrait titled 'South Shore'
Some
idea of its position (possibly close to the site of the Harrington Dock or Toxteth
Dock) can be gauged from the church on the extreme right, which is St James's.
The windmill just behind this and to its left, was situated on the brow of the
present Cathedral cemetery.
