New work in progress on the northern extension. This is the portion towards the Dingle Oil terminal. After the construction of a new sea wall, the area behind was backfilled with excavated materials, Mersey tunnel diggings, materials cleared from war-damaged buildings and domestic refuse. Finally it was topped with concrete and a promenade was added. Landscaped gardens are visible, left. |
