1905

This view of Knott's Hole in 1905 looks across to "David's Throne" from the south side of Dingle Point.

David's Throne was a name given by the Puritans to the small sandstone outcrop which separates the two branches of the Dingle Stream. It was once crowned by an alcove containing a statue of the 'Nymph of the Dingle'.

This is now all buried under the former Garden Festival site although tipping started in the early 1900s. This was one of the first areas to be filled with spoil from the Mersey Tunnel diggings, as part of the Dingle Oil Terminal development.
