Not quite within the toxteth boundary but it seems a shame to waste a photograph of the general area, here shown in 1954 the depression in the street is a sewer collapse.

The view is from Smithdown Road towards Earle Road. The small concreted-over gardens on the left hand side would once have  had low iron railings most of which were removed for industrial purposes in WW2
