November 2004. The wall of St James Church is just visible on the left as is the junction with Blair Street, just before the new housing starts. This is the site of the old Chesterfield Arms. On the right hand side are two as yet unidentified buildings beyond which is a pale grey metal fence and then the junction with Chester Street and the stone wall which is all that remains of the now demolished Wesleyan Methodist Chapel. In the distance the continuity of Upper Stanhope Street has now been broken by traffic control measures. |
