24 July 1993 This is the end of the now-severed, Upper Hill Street, almost at Princes Road, (which would be just to your right, the white building is the rear of a property on Princes Road. The pub on the corner of Gibson Street is The Alexandra Hotel. According to old directories, the adjacent buildings, coming towards you are a coach proprietor, stable or motor proprietor (according to year) and then private houses. It was rundown when this picture was taken in 1993 but this small area now looks as if it will not stand for much longer. |
