South Hill Road
toxteth.net > places >  south hill road

This originally ran from number 404 Park Road, close to the Dingle (the numbering begins at Park Road) to the Shorefields area, at the end of Cockburn Street, close to the Park Hill hospital for infectious diseases, passing one end of Dingle Mount on the way. (Dingle Mount is effectively the continuation of Beloe Street)

Near to Park Road the South Grove side indicates the odd numbered properties.

At some stage after the 1905 map andbefore the 1911 directory, the area between Toxteth Grove and Dingle Terrace was redeveloped. The large houses shown on the 1905 map and directory have given way to two new terraces : Dentwood Street and Wyncroft Street.

Notable properties along South Hill Road are Toxteth Congregational Church (old), at least two pubs, the South Hill(42) and The Mount (71), The Liverpool Benevolent Society of the Reclaiming of Fallen Women (56),
