This sausage factory at 200 and 2002
Smithdown Road, (on the corner
of Hawarden Avenue, just before the Ullet Road junction), was a feature
of Smithdown Road for many years. It is not in the Gore for 1911
(when the properties are a baker and a grocers) but is there in
1938. It lasted until the 1960s at least.
Smithdown Road
still has tram lines at this time.
A benchmark on the wall
of the factory indicates that this was 133.9 feet above sea-level
