Looking away from the river. The junction with Dickens Street is just off screen left.

In the distance right is the site of St Philemon's church, now occupied by a modern red building just visible lower right. This is the whole of the terrace up tp the site of the church, the distant houses can be seen on the church file, but in the 1950s.

The nearest buildings, on the left, must once have been very fine and caught my eye.  Looking them up in old Gore's directories they turned out to be associated with a builders yard!
