This is 123 Mill Street in a dangerous condition . The building is now an end of a terrace with an area of development land to the right.

The building is in very poor condition, with the brickwork bowing out onto the pavement at the front. 'New' 1950s housing sits behind.

The building is just past the Warwick Street junction and in 1938 (the last Gore's directory examined) it was the premises of John Joseph Bates, a hairdresser. The property on the LHS was one of  Blackledges Baker's shops.

From John Burns:-
"The delapidated shop was "Mack's" the barbers, painted green. It was full of framed photo's of early 20th century boxers around the walls. He had a wooden chair with a box on, to sit small boys and cut their hair. Mack had red hair and a handlebar moustache".

The property was demolished in the 1961 or 1962.
