This shows the junction of Mill Street with Northumberland Street. The tall building on the LHS is Bees seedsman Ltd. This firm occupied the block from 173 to 181. The chemist at 183 in 1938 was Geo. Kennedy, the butcher next door was Edward Victor Davies. The Baker at 187 was Mitchell's, as shown here. 189 has already been demolished (n.b. Thomas Ogden of tobacco fame had a shop at 182 Mill Street, around 1860, at the start of the building of his tobacco empire).
