26th January 1956

Grafton Street runs parallel to Mann Street. This shows two properties which sit either side of court No25. The rightmost properties are 327. and 329, The shop is 325. Wellington Road is off picture, right as is the Sailors  Chapel. The Herculaneum Chapel was at the end of a similar court just off screen left.. Note that Grafton Street is still cobbled.

These houses were the subject of a compulsory purchase order in 1956 (LRO) and the leftmost were demolished before July 1959.

The properties are close to the Harlow Street junction and the left hand houses can just be made out on file 4 below. You can also see the chimney of the Lavrock Bank destructor behind the right-most houses.
