1934 The properties here number from 121 (part of the small block set back, RHS). This small block has small front 'gardens, gates and stone walls and pre-dates the rest of the terraces which run from the centre of the picture towards the junction with Hill Street on the left hand side of the shot. The only properties clearly visible are the pawnbrokers, I. I. Denny's Ltd, (95-97) with the awning, and just beyond, on the corner of Hill Street is the LIverpool Cartage Co. This building (85) is their carriage repair works, the company also had stables from 53-59 Grafton St, these were still standing in 2004.at In the far distance the characteristic shape of the Cains Brewery can be seen . |
