Grafton Street - (313) junction with Harlow Street
toxteth.net > places >  grafton street

12th July 1959.

Compare this to file 5 below, this is taken three years later, from close to the Sailors Chapel and the bottom of Wellington Road, looking towards the city centre, a long way away. The Herculaneum chapel would have been located at the end of Chapel Court (now demolished)

The first junction on the right (just past the three storey house and the gable end of a building) is with Harlow Street.

On the left is the edge of one of two gasometers whilst the more distant ones are Caryl Street Gasworks.

The little terrace of houses (left) built on the site of the Mersey Forge Northern Yard, was still there in 2006.
