Damage to air raid shelters between Park Street and Grafton Street. The damage to the shelters is severe and brick rubble can be seen scattered across the ground next to the shelters.

The building behind is on Grafton Street. 'The Channel Fleet' is clearly visible and there is a 'To be sold' sign under this. This pub was at 275 Grafton Street according to Gores 1911. For Gores 1938 the numbers are missing from 223 to 275 inclusive and thus the pub is not recorded.

Note just to the right of upper centre, the tip of the tower, of St. Gabriels Church on Beaufort Street.

The pub on the right hand side, on the corner of Grafton Street and Park Street is in. the 1938 Gore and is the 'Mersey View' at 277
