December 1955
The crossroads of Embledon Street
(bottom left to middle right) and Maynard Street (middle left to lower right
- with the puddle!) - two of the narrow streets at the centre of the original Windsor
hamlet, established in the northernmost corner of Toxteth in 1822. In
the
background (right of shot) a breadvan can be seen emerging on Upper Parliament Street
near the shop of John Ralph (see this sister
shot) on the
Toxteth boundary, with the works on Aigburth St just beyond it. Almost
hidden
on the right is the entrance to the very short Godwin Streeet.
