This is a 1970 view of half-demolished Dove Street
from the corner of (demolished) Maitland Street, looking towards St.Clement's
Church (on Beaumont Street). On
the right (just past the kids) is the corner of Grierson Street.
Forming
a stark backdrop is the tower block of Entwhistle Heights, a product of 1960's
housing policy.
The first property on the right is number 21,
the chip shop is 19, the last property before Mailtland Street is number 13.
On the left is Thames Street, the cleared area is the site of The
Gladstone pub.
