The older part of the building on the left side was the
original 1898 Electric Tramway Depot built for the electrification of trams in Liverpool which began this same year, starting with the Dingle routes. The City’s first electric trams were the Altona and Ringbahn style single deckers, made in Germany. In 1899 the Princes Park Gate route was electrified using American trams.

This has all now been demolished
