Belvidere
Road runs from Princes Park Gate where St Johns Wesleyan Methodist Church
is sited. It passes a handful of Mansion sized properties on both sides
of the road before another church is encountered.
This
was once the Trinity Presbyterian Church
although the original building has now ceased to be used as a church and is
currently undergoing conversion to flats.
After
a junction with Peel Street, the
site of the former St Pauls Church (now part of a school) is passed
on the left hand side of the road before it joins firstly the perimeter
road of Princes Park (from the left) and Wellesley
Road (from the right) and then finally Ullet
Road, (this is just before the latter itself meets Aigburth Road). This junction
is labelled 'The Hamlet' on the 1905 O.S. map.
One side of
Belvidere Road consists of magnificent 5-storey
terraced houses such as those shown here, (although their exact position along the road, is not yet
established)
The other side consists largely of
the villas and mansions which form one of the boundaries of Princes
Park.
