This is situated on Park Road between Dombey Street and Dorrit Street.
It opened in 1870
and was founded by W P Lockhart, a baptist preacher and friend of the famous baptist Charles Haddon Spurgeon. Spurgeon himself spoke of Lockhart thus: 'pastor of the church meeting in the Toxteth Tabernacle, a large edifice erected by the people whom he gathered by his preaching. Our friend has, with much acceptance,
occupied this pulpit, and been of great service to our denomination'
The
Tabernacle has a hall at 32 Miller Street, called the Ebenezer
Hall.
