St Philemon Church of England, occupied the block between Windor Street and its junction with Northumberland Street and Dorritt Street.

Building took two years, from 1872,  at which time it was consecrated by the then Bishop of Chester.

In 1958 the parish was amalgamated with St Silas.

The original building in the picture is now demolished and modern housing occupies the site.  A new church stands between Admiral Street and High Park Street
