A new church now stands on the site of the old St Michaels church (demolished 1946) but  the wall surrounding the old churchyard is still intact and the cleared graveyards remain undeveloped.

The Wapping Railway Tunnel passes directly under the point from which this photograph was taken.

 The old church destroyed by bombing in WW!!
