St Michael in the Hamlet - East Window

May 2004

This is the east window, the largest of the 15 stained glass windows in the church.

For many years the lower part was covered by a dark, oak, reredos which has  been removed (and which now forms the entrance at the west end of the church).

A window in the Clergy vestry has an unusual dedication ' Erected by the working classes in grateful rememberance of the Rev. William Hesketh'.

There is a tablet in the church  in memory of Jeremiah Horrox 1619-1641. There is no connection between Horrox and the church however.
