This
church, which opened in 1886, sits between Fearnside Street
(left of shot) and Freemnan Street (right of shot) though both of
these former streets are now laid waste, their Victorian terraces
demolished.
The construction of this church is entirely
of red brick, inside and out and it has apparently been called the
Bricklayers Church, though I have never heard the name in local
usage.
David Lewis (1) records that the church was endowed
by the Earle family and built on the site of their former mansion.
