St. Deiniol's church had its origin in 1887 in a mission room in
Smithdown Lane, but due to its rapidly increasing population, larger
premises were required, and a site for a new church was chosen at the
end of Upper Parliament Street.
The foundation stone was laid on 2nd August 1894.
This small brick-built chapel was designed by R. Owens. It was built
as a chapel of ease, for
a Welsh speaking congregation and ministered by clergy from St David's, Brownlow Hill. The
first Welsh church built in England (1826).
For as long as I can remember, this has been a furniture warehouse / shop and I know no more of its history.
