This building, marked 'Hall' on the map, was located on Beresford Road, Toxteth Park at OS Grid Reference - SJ 357877 and was virtually opposite the site of the now-demolished  St. Cleopas Churcha little closer to the river.

It was originally a mission hall for Toxteth Congregational Church. (The later church was sited at the junction of Aigburth Rd and Ullet Rd). It is shown as such in the 1926 Gore, un-numbered but between 104 and 106. St Cleopas parish bought this mission building some time after this, to use as a parish hall. Following the demise of the original St Cleopas Church, so the parish hall / mission became the new St Cleopas church for some years, until it was demolished in 2004-2005 and a new church builton the site. The building above thus no longer exists.

Some of the fittings from the original St Cleopas Church were transferred to the mission hall when this was reordered as a church. In 2003. At that time the building was also in use as a day nursery, we were invited in to see some of the things saved from the original church itself: pews, stained glass, roll of honour and the altar piece, these are shown.

In November 2004 the building was inaccesible, it appeared closed and was apparently under renovation but in the early days of 2005 it was demolished.

In May 2005 it was replaced by this new church. I am indebted to Paul Young both for this new picture and for corrections to my original history of the buildings on this site.

The Mission shown above has been figured as the Church elsewhere on the Internet, this is only partially true, although thebuilding was used as a church after the demolition of the original building it is not the original St. Cleopas Church itself which stood from 1866 until 1973.
