One of the most striking churches in toxteth and a constant
feature of skylines, this is also called "Toxteth Cathedral".
This
very lovely gothic church was started in 1865 and opened on the
15th March 1868. It was designed by George and William Audsley who between
them were responsible for many toxteth churches ( such as Princes
Road Synagogue and St Margarets). William however emigrated to the
USA in 1885.
The congregation left after
the first world war, never to return it seems and this beautiful
church, a lovely part of Liverpool and Toxteth heritage, is
currently being allowed to waste away.
