Robert John Williams

1900 Robert was born on the 25th September at 5 Melrose Avenue, Kirkdale to Elizabeth Williams formerly McGrevy and Samuel Williams a general labourer.

1901 he is recorded with the family still at 5 Melrose Avenue in thecensus aged 7 months.

1921 He was a witness at the marriage of his sister Lilian Jane Williams to Edward Alfred Christian.

At some stage he is thought to have married Florence Hoker. The couple had one son, Roy Williams. As tThe family were Catholic and Robert married out of the church he is thought to have been marginalised He was not talked about hence very little is known about him. However he is thought to have been a ship's cook.

1938 Gores has many Robert Williams, however just one is shown as a ship's cook, living at 22 Muriel Street, Walton. No further details and this is on off-chance.

He died as a result of a scalding or accident at sea perhaps around the time of the second world war. A separate family source says that he was married, and may have had one child.
