At some stage he moved from Liverpool to Ross on Wye. There he married Ivy Price. They looked after, or managed, a home in Ross for many years. There were no children to this marriage.

Ivy in turn had a sister, Nora who later married Vincent Christian when he moved down to Ross on Wye. (note also that Ellen Williams married someone from Ross on Wye, Les Watkins, however they lived in Liverpool)
