1843 Jane was born

1869 Jane Roberts married Jabez Williams in Liverpool (ref. March qtr West Derby 8b 482). The marriage was at the Church of St Peter, Everton, Walton on the Hill. Jane claims 26, a spinster of 103 Anthony Street. Her father is Robert Roberts a Book-keeper. Anthony Street is two streets north of the church. (Jabez claims 27, a Batchelor, Marine Stoker of 39 China Street. His father is given as Peter Williams, a farmer. China Street is in Everton, two streets south from the church of St Peter). The marriage was by license. Both parties signed their own names, the witnesses were Thomas and Sarah Sims.

1870 on Samuel Jabez's birth certificate, the address is given as 193 Beaufort Street. The 1860 Gore puts this (as 193 Bedford St [before the name was changed]) about half way between Warwick Street and Northumberland Street.

1871 census shows Jane (and Jabez, Stoker in Steam Vessel, born Wales and aged 30) living at 5 Court 4 House, Frank Street, St Cleopas, Toxteth.

1872 Leah is born at 9 Williams Street, Toxteth Park, Liverpool. 9th September 1872.

1881 living at 2 Rectory Street in Toxteth with Jabez and four children, Samuel, Leah, Elizabeth Ann and Peter.

1891 Jane, living with Elizabeth (18) and Leah (15 or 16) at 30 Malta Street, Toxteth, is shown as a widow, placing the death of Jabez between April 1881 and April 1891. Peter who would have been 11 is missing. Malta Street is very closde to 128 Park Road where the McGrevys are living.

1901 Jane is at 63 King Street, Liscard, a widow, living on her own means. She is shown as born in Liverpool, Mother-in-law to the head of house, George Macconachie (a private secretary, aged 24, born Liverpool) George is married to Elizabeth (24, b. Liverpool) and this is Jane's daughter, Elizabeth, nee Williams*. (There is also one child to the couple, Frances Maconacie**, aged 11 months). The address is highly significant as it is the address at which Sarah nee McGrevy lived with her husband William John McGrath from her marriage in 1896 to her death in 1899. It was also William John McGrath's address when he subsequently married Leah Williams in July 1900. Leah is sister to Elizabeth (Williams) Maconochie.

Jane has not been followed further and no further details are available yet.
* George Maconochie married Elizabeth Williams, Toxteth Park 8b 441 Sept, 1898.
** Frances V.D. Maconuchie (note spelling!) looks to have been born Toxteth Park 8b 207, June 1900.

By 1911 Gore, 63 King Street is shown as Charles M Crawshaw, fruiterer, number 61 is the same person but a fishmonger. William McGrath is at 157 Sea Bank Road.
