1890 Jane was born in Livepool, the date calculkated from later census data.

1891 She is with her parents in the household of Charles McCulloch, her grandfather, in Wolfe Street, Toxteth.

1901 She is now aged 11 and living with he parents at 10 Wolfe Street.

Little is known subsequently of Jane who has not been investigated fully. She was known as "Auntie Ginnie", and lived for many years in Ivanhoe Road, Aigburth, Liverpool not far from 60 bus route stop. I remember Sunday tea with her once, tongue sandwiches and tinned salmon, which in the 1950s must have been very 'posh'. I have no other memories of her. The photograph is dated 1949 and is from the wedding album of John & Betty Christian.

Gillian recalls "Auntie Gin was a lady, I remember also going to her house in Ivanhoe Rd, they must have been grand in their time, high ceilings, big rooms etc.. Did you know she went to Southport everyday to get fresh bread, got the train as she only liked it from this one shop??

I think she did get engaged but he died, have to get dad to tell me the story, she spent her last christmas with us and i remember thinking she looked yellow. She died from liver cancer, can't remember the year but between 1966-1972, will have to ask Mum as she tends to remember dates
."

Some further information "Jane Edwards .Lived at 11,Pickwick St upto the late 1930`s, then moved to Ivanhoe Road. From the age of 13 she worked for B. Ellis & Co. in Seel St, Liverpool. B. Ellis were major cork merchants and had extensive cork groves in Portugal. She rose from being an assembler/despatcher of customer orders for corks/bungs to being P.A to the late M.D., one Mr Petit. As a young lady she was engaged but sadly her fiancee was killed in WWI.

In the 1930`s Ellis & Co moved to Mount Pleasant St and at the time she did some basic rep work [Commercial Traveller]. She got Doreen a job there and Jim as well. A kindly, gentle and refined lady who at the time of her passing was sadly missed.  One more thing to add, Auntie Doreen says she wasnt only Mr Petit`s P.A she was also what we would know today as his mistress! He left her with alot of shares, but sadly, they were not worth as much as he would have thought
