James Christian was born in Liverpool on 23 February 1908, he was christened on 9th March 1908 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Toxteth Park. His Godmother was Bridget (Birgetta) O'Brien.

At some stage he moved to Australia to Victoria, Adelaide. At one stage (early 1950s John Joseph Christian was considering moving to Australia to join them). James is thought to have married an Austrian or German girl, probably in Australia, perhaps named Betty.  There is at least one son of this marriage also James, known as Jimmy.  A second son was known about and may be called Fred. Jimmy, in turn, is thought to have had at least one child, a daughter ?Julia?

The family lost contact some time in the 1970s, however I have an Australian war record for CHRISTIAN, JAMES BERNARD Q123139 23 Feb 1908 LIVERPOOL, ENGLAND Australian Army. The birthday is an exact match for my James.
