1847 Daniel was born in Ireland. His date of birth, 1847, is on the basis of marriage and death certificates. These are consistent, assuming the 1881 census is out of step ( the original census return has not been seen only the LDS transcription). 1870 He was married to Johanna Kearns in 1870 when they were living at 20 Raymond Street. Daniel is the father of Elizabeth, Bridget, John and Johanna. No other children are known, however the above is based on the 1881 census alone. 1881 census finds the family at 1 House 4 Court, Ashfield St. Liverpool. Daniel is a dock labourer 1884 they were still living at 2 Court, 1 House Ashfield Street, as per 1881 census. 1885 Daniel died on 7th September 1885 (Liverpool 8b 30 July-Sept 1885 Age 39), from Phthisis (Tuberculosis). The informant is his wife Johanna Whelan (nee Kearns) who, as on her marriage certificate, is unable to write. Daniel's widow, Johanna's, second marriage took place in 1887. This was to one Thomas Keegan, who is presumed to be the same Thomas Keegan who is with the family as a lodger in the 1881 census). |
