1881 Ann aged 9 is with the family at 23 Wolfe Street for the census.

1891 Ann is no longer with Robert and Alice at 23 Lamport Street (Jane has since died). Annie Edwards is now found at 48 Lamport Street aged 19, b. Liverpool married to Thomas Newton, 24, b. Liverpool.. Thomas appears to be a 'carriage chainer'  

1901 Ann (father Robert Edwards) is found at 33 Eastwood Street, Edge Hill.  This is confirmed as my relative. Head-of-house is Thomas Newton 35, Railway Lampman (port), Lancs, Liverpool and wife Ann Newton, 29, b. Lancs, Liverpool and their child Jane,9, b. Lancs, Liverpool. Further details of Robert and Alice are in their files.

The Ann Newton found here aged 29 is Ann nee Edwards (b.1872 and would thus be 29) and Jane (9) is her child with Robert.  Assuming this to be true there is a likely marriage of Thomas Newton and Annie Edwards at Toxteth Park, St Matthews, in 1890. The Liverpool Register reference for this is 2117TP/2/334. GRO number is Toxteth Park, Sept qtr, 8b 453. The marriage in 1890 explains why Ann is not with the family in the 1891 census and she is now traced for 1891 under the name Annie (as per marriage) and not under Ann, living close to the family at 48 Lamport Street.
