1878 Alice was born 5th September 1878. The daughter of Robert Edwards (Butcher journeyman) and Jane Aspinall. The birth was West Derby 8b 211 Dec 1878. Jane was unable to sign her name ('mark of') as on previous certificates). The birth was at 7 Wolfe Street.

1881 For the census at 123 Wolfe Street. Alice is aged 2, living with her parents - Robert (aged 41, wood turner) and Jane (41, dressmaker). Hugh is also a wood turner, siblings of Hugh with the family are John Edwards (14), Elizabeth Edwards(11), Ann Edwards(9), Ellen Edwards(7), William Edwards(5), The sibling birth certificates for Ann, Ellen, William and Alice would add addresses and occupations to Robert.

1891 census at 23 Lamport Street, Toxteth, a widower Robert Edwards (51) is living with a daughter Alice aged 12. Lamport Street is between Wolfe Street and Pickwick street. This is probably my family - both ages fit exactly and no other Robert Edwards looked at fit the criteria. This Robert is a wood turner, which is consistent, thus this is assumed to be the correct Alice also.

1899
Alice Edwards married Magnus Charles Stove at St. Cyprians, Edge Hill, Liverpool, Christmas Day 1899. At the time of her marriage she was living in 4 Dell St. Liverpool. Her sister Ellen Edwards was a witness.

1901 In the census Alice, aged 22 is living at 33 Eastwood Street, Edge Hill. Alice is now under her married name of Stove, and Charles Magnus Stove is in this household also. Head of house is Thomas Newton, the husband of Ann Newton (nee Edwards). Also in the house is the father of Alice and Ann, Robert Edwards.

Alice and Magnus subsequently had 7 children. At the time of his marriage Magnus was a 'carter' however he later went to sea as a donkeyman - shovelling coal into the steamship's boiler. He was found dead in his bunk 01/10/1937 in the port of Dunkirk.

1955 Alice died at 1A Vronhill Street, Toxteth of a Cerebral Thrombosis, she was aged 76. The informant is her daughter J. Stove, presumed to be Jane Stove, of the same address.
