This barn gave its name to the street of
the same name. It was erected in 1523 by Sir William Molyneux to collect produce, received as tithes,
from Liverpool and Kirkdale.
The site of the barn is said
to be on the corner of Cheapside, on the south side of Tithebarn
street, where the main structure and oak roof could apparently
still be seen up to the late 1900s. (bbc.co.uk).
